Specifications

The Dremel 3000-15 boasts a number of features that makes it quite a powerful multitool. To start, with 130W at its arsenal, the motor produces RPMs of up to 10,000 to 33,000. This speed can also be controlled through a speed dial for maximum precision. With a variable speed motor, you can create things from as small as engraving, to rapid sanding.

Another important specification is the ease of use for the Dremel 3000-15. The system includes a tool-less slide out system in order to change each accessory. Using the EZ Twist system, you are able to save valuable time and don’t have to worry about using a wrench. This is very useful, as other systems require multiple steps in order to attach and detach accessories.

Beyond the motor and easy to use system, the package that comes with the Dremel 300-15 includes a 26 piece Dremel accessory kit. Which includes pieces such as drill bits, sand discs, as well as a polishing brush. With this accessory kit, you can get started right away with any project, while more accessories are available across sites like Amazon.

Performance

The performance of the Dremel 3000-15 can be judged in a variety of different ways. The best testing method for this multitool is to put it against different scenarios that may have find a multitool useful. This includes cutting skirting board, polishing a ring, as well as sanding a wooden picture frame.

To start, with it’s high power and high speed motor, the Dremel 3000-15 did in fact do an excellent job with cutting skirting board. While the board itself is somewhat thin, the Dremel multitool was able to slice away very quickly and with ease. While nail guns are great for skirting board, so is the Dremel 3000-15 for small precision and light cutting work.

Our second test relied on the polishing brush. With this brush already including in the free accessory kit, we did not have to go out and purchase one, so that is a plus. We went ahead and polished a real old brass rink. With a bunch of scratches and fading going, we hit with the Dremel multitool and polished away. After only a few seconds, we were able to get dramatic results and make the brass ring look new.

Finally, for our final test, we used one of the sanding attachments for our Dremel 3000-15. After putting together a basic picture frame using our Hitachi NR90GC2 nail gun, it was time to give the frame some final touches with a bit of sanding. Using the sanding attachment that came with the the tool, we cranked the speed of the motor a little higher than normal. After sanding the picture frame all around, we were left with an impressive finish.

Quality

While the Dremel 3000-15 multitool performed exceptionally well within our testing, the quality is another area that should also be discussed. With Dremel known to be a reputable tool manufacturer, who is also investing in home laser products, we found that the multitool is definitely great for in home DIY projects, and not so much on really big construction projects.

While small in nature, the tool is very light, due to the fact that the construction of the casing is made primarily of light weight plastic and rubber. Therefore, one should expect that the tool is someone fragile, and so it does feel a little bit on the lower-quality side. Moreover, for big heavy projects, the tool may not seem useful as the accessories do not last too long and are meant for quick and small projects.

Regardless of the tool itself, the quality of the tool did hold up during our testing. As mentioned, the Dremel 300-15 performed exceptionally well and did not hesitate when cutting, polishing, or sanding. Therefore, when buying this tool, you should not expect less than average performance when using it within a project. With this in mind, the quality in terms of everyday use is definitely good and has held up well during our 3 month review period.

Conclusion

We really enjoyed the industry leading multitool within our Dremel 3000-15 review. The tool performed really well within our testing. While the quality is a little bit on the lower end, we still recommend this multitool over others as it provides top notch performance at a affordable price.
